Quiet family tent pitches in ‘Williams field’

NOW CLOSED UNTIL 2018

We have 4 special pitches just for tents in a separate field to the main camp site which are available for the late May Bank Holiday and in June for weekends and July and August for weekly bookings (We can be flexible). The pitches have stunning and far reaching views down the Avon estuary looking out to sea and beyond to Burgh Island. They are in a fenced off area (to protect you from curious cows) at the bottom of a 1.5 acre field. See here for more pictures.

Facilities: Each pitch comes with its own water supply, firebowl/bbq and picnic table and enjoys around 250 m2 of space. Pitches are limited to just one large family sized tent please but sadly not camper vans. There are 2 compost loos, a washing up area and a cold outdoor shower, however guests have the use of a hot shower and loo a few minutes walk away at our farmhouse in a separate wet room area. (FOR GUESTS STAYING IN WILLIAMS FIELD ONLY) There is also a fridge/freezer in this area for leaving your freezer packs and anything else that needs to be kept cold.

Guests can also get to the beach without going along the main road by walking past the farmhouse and onto the estuary path just minutes from the farm. It’s then around a 15/20 min walk to the village and beach.

New for 2017 is a small field kitchen for guests to share with a 2 ring gas burner, kettle, some pots and pans and a few cups and plates.

you might get some visitors!

How to get here: Firstly go to the Directions tab on our home page for main directions to Bantham. As you come down the Bantham Road, after about 2 miles, look out for a gate marked ‘Williams field’ about a 100m BEFORE the main entrance to the campsite and opposite ‘Chukka Cheese’ farm. Just drive along the top of the first field you come into; as you come to the end follow it round to the left, along for about 100m and then through an aluminium gate (you’ll see a couple of barns on your left) down onto a narrow bumpy farm track, the entrance is about another 50m on your right. It’s a pretty tight turn into the parking area so take a wide swing around as you come in. The parking area is just big enough for 4 vehicles. If you are looking for a remote location, this is the place for you! The track is only accessible for vehicles no larger than a land rover or regular estate car. Vehicles should also not venture further down the narrow farm track but go back through the main field to get onto the main road.

Parking: Guests should park their vehicles on the hardstanding area on the right as they enter Williams field rather than next to their tents. A wheelbarrow is available to transfer gear to your pitch.

Tariff: Weekend breaks available on the May Bank Holiday and in June at £30 per night (min 2 nights but we can be flexible)

The pitches are available for weekly bookings (we can be flexible) at £175 per week (£25 deposit required). Changeover day is generally on a Friday but can be on a Saturday by prior agreement. Guests are kindly asked to vacate their pitch by 11am. Arrival any time from 2pm.
